Caleb Burge Obituary, Sabine Death: Fifth Victim Claimed in Sabine Pass Crash as 22-Year-Old Died from Injuries
The community of Sabine Pass is mourning after a devastating multi-vehicle collision on Highway 87 claimed a fifth life. Authorities confirmed that 22-year-old Caleb Burge died from injuries sustained in the crash, adding to the heartbreak already felt throughout the region following one of the area’s most serious recent roadway tragedies.
According to preliminary findings from investigators, the collision occurred Monday afternoon and involved a Chevrolet Express passenger van, a Prevost bus, and an Audi. Officials reported that the passenger van, traveling northwest, crossed into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with the southeast-bound bus. Following the initial impact, an Audi then struck the rear of the bus.
Four individuals were pronounced dead at the scene:
- Cesar Rojas, 28, of Baytown
- Emmanuel Reynosa Rivas, 27
- Angel Dominguez, 28
- Osvaldo Alvarez, 37
Authorities later confirmed that Caleb Burge succumbed to injuries sustained during the collision, bringing the death toll to five.
Several other people were injured and transported to hospitals for treatment. Those reported injured include:
- Raul Silberio Trujillo, 38
- Rodolfo Garay Jr., 37
- Fernando Rojas, 50
- Robert Zackery Sebastia Hoyt, 26
- The drivers of both the bus and the Audi
Officials have not publicly released detailed updates regarding the conditions of all surviving victims.
The crash prompted a major emergency response as first responders, law enforcement officers, and medical personnel worked to assist victims and secure the highway. Portions of Highway 87 were impacted while investigators documented the scene and began reconstructing the sequence of events.

Officials connected to the LNG contractor whose bus was involved confirmed that the bus was empty at the time of the collision and extended condolences to all affected families.
